The speech, scheduled for 9 p.m. Eastern, will be Trump’s first State of the Union address since returning to office for a second nonconsecutive term. Presidents traditionally use the annual address to highlight achievements and present their legislative goals.
Trump is expected to focus on the economy, immigration enforcement and foreign policy. Administration officials say he will emphasize domestic manufacturing, job growth and trade policies aimed at boosting American industry.
Immigration and border security are also expected to feature prominently, with Trump likely to urge Congress to approve stricter enforcement measures and additional funding for border operations.
The address will take place before a divided Congress and a national television audience of millions. Vice President JD Vance and House Speaker Mike Johnson will sit behind the president during the speech, a longstanding tradition during the annual address.
